Bio

A true Texan at heart, raised on the land in the gentle, rolling hills of north Texas,
Sammy Sadler has a rich (true) story of his own with a brand-new chapter unfolding for him.
Sammy Sadler, fresh out of high school knew with all certainty what he wanted and for
what he was destined – to be a COUNTRY MUSIC STAR! He believed Nashville was the place
where he would take his stand. Sammy’s parents agreed and they helped to make his decision
become a reality.

With unbounded energy, plus an unforgettable smile solidifying his good looks, it was
soon known around Nashville that this new kid-in-town had a naturally smooth, compelling
delivery of a song infused with emotion and believability. Sammy soon became a promising
commodity. The hustle was on!

In that era - the late 80s’ and early 90’s - of country music star manufacturing via
Nashville, Sammy was thrown into multiple studios cutting records behind music industry
professionals with big promises of a very bright future just up ahead. One of those was
Evergreen Records, who signed Sammy to a recording contract. And just like that, Sammy
Sadler had arrived. The year was 1989. Sammy was 23 years old.

At his new position with Evergreen Records, Sammy was encouraged to assist with
artists promotions of his new contract as well as the other artists signed to Evergreen Records.
Soon he was contacting radio stations and the corresponding chart generators like
BILLBOARD and Cash Box – the latter being a newer outlet whose specialty seemed to be new
and up and coming artists. Making friends with powerful music industry pros was essential,
and soon Sammy made friends with Kevin Hughs, the Cash Box chart manager. The tragedy
that evolved from this friendship has been documented repeatedly on national TV,
documentary series, and hundreds of other media sources as the solo incident known as
“Murder on Music Row.” The black cloud that hovered over Sammy for the next twenty years of
his life almost took his life, but also inspired him to write his own story, which has become a
highly respected, credible account of the incident. The book is appropriately entitled, “A Hit
With a Bullet.” (link to book here)

The numbers of songs charted (four Top 15 hits on the Texas Music Chart) during the
past twenty years, and multiple, successful singles and albums released, supported by his
touring, has helped to establish Sammy as a true entertainer. His vocal talent (gift) of bringing
the song alive and allowing it to touch the heart, is far more refined today. He was noticed by
the CMA of Texas and is being awarded VOCALIST OF THE YEAR. Sammy will be performing
and receiving his award at the upcoming annual awards show on October 14, 2026, hosted by
the Dosey Doe Barn in The Woodlands, TX. (www.cmaoftexas.com)
Did it happen overnight? Of course, not, but it is happening now. With that huge smile,
that brighter sparkle in his eyes secured by the love of his Savior, Jesus Christ, Sammy is taking
the stage with his band of outstanding professionals. He is now on his true mission – bringing
his distinct brand of country music straight from the Lone Star State – his beloved TEXAS
where he is at HOME.
